Certaines personnes limitent leur sommeil en raison de pressions sociales ; d'autres ont plusieurs emplois ou des responsabilit\u00e9s et n'ont tout simplement pas assez d'occasions de dormir. Pour \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un SSI, la restriction de sommeil doit se produire la plupart des jours, durer au moins trois mois et entra\u00eener un mauvais fonctionnement et une somnolence excessive pendant la p\u00e9riode d'\u00e9veil.
